The
luxurious train is scheduled in such a way that it travels through the
night so that guests get to relax in 5-star comfort and arrive fresh the
next morning at the next halt, to explore the destination during the
day.
Breakfast and dinner will be served on board while lunch
will be provided at the guest destinations. Only on the final day will
lunch be served on the train and dinner at the Taj Residency Nasik.
Tickets for this luxurious train are priced at US$ 350 per
head per day and are all-inclusive in the same fare, except for the
drinks and use of the health spa. Catering and housekeeping on the
Deccan Odyssey have been contracted to the Taj Group of hotels.
"Our
priority is to sell the full 7-day package but we will consider the
option of also selling segments of the journey based on the availability
of seats," says Singh. The 21-coach train will have 13 saloons with
5-star facilities that will accommodate 96 passengers, two restaurants,
a bar, conference room, health spa, staff accommodation and two
generator cars.
Each passenger saloon car comprising of four
compartments will accommodate two, making a total of eight to a
carriage. All saloons have a common lounge with a flat screen TV and the
rooms are fitted with 5-star convenience including attached baths and
toilets.
The interior design of each coach has been inspired
by the site or monument after which it has been named.
